She is chiefly known for paintings in which she synthesized abstraction and representation in paintings of vaginas, flowers, rocks, shells, animal bones and landscapes. Georgia O'Keeffe paintings present crisply contoured forms that are replete with subtle tonal transitions of varying colors.
