Pierre Auguste Cot (February 17, 1837-1883) was a French painter of the Academic Classicism school.

About Pierre-Auguste Cot: He was born in Bedarieux, and then went to Paris. In 1874 Pierre-Auguste Cot was made Chevalier of the Legion of Honour. Several Pierre-Auguste Cot Paintings are lasting popularity, e.g. Le Printemps and The Storm. Both these Pierre-Auguste Cot Paintings are on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City; The Storm belongs to the museum while Le Printemps is owned privately.
